My Phuket Trip!

Went to phuket with my grp of friends on the second last week on March. It was a good relaxing trip for all of us. Its nice to get away from work once in a while. It was quite a waste that ju was unable to join us then we have the whole grp of us there.

The first day:
We had to check in at 5am(singapore time) . I was all zoned out having to work the previous day. We managed to have some mc donald's breakfast before we board the plane. It was a less than 2 hours plane ride. By the time we reached phuket, it was nearly 11 (Phuket's time).

We took the airport transfer to our hotel, Burasari! We were each welcome with a glass of some plum juice tasting thing. Feel so high class! keke!

Here are views of our lovely hotel:

Cosy group shot on our big big bed!! I love our bed! its so huge!

After all the excitement of photottaking and exploring of our room died down, we decided its time to head to the beach!

Before beach, we were all famished! We were looking out for cheap good authentic food! But we din manage to find any. All the food there is like for the rich angmo tourists! Ended up at a european thai restaurent. The food was worse than thai express! The only yummy thing there was the thai ice tea which we could not find it anywhere else for the next few days.

BEach Beach Beach! We headed for Patong beach, the nearest to our hotel. The weather was quite disappoitning. It drizzled all day long. There were barely any sun. We each rented a chair (50 baht each) with an umbrella by the beach.

Jet-Ski-ing! We rented 2 jet-skis and took turns on it! Haha! Jet-ski was really fun but i got lost while jet ski-ing! I did not had my specs on! I did not dare to go too far after a while and kept going ard in circles to look for my other frn! The whole stretch of beach looks the same with the purple umbrellas all ard! I was glad i made it back to my frns safely!

Our banana boat ride! My first time! It was fun! But it sure difficult to climb back up after falling down. I think the boat man thot we were rather comical trying to climb up. We din try to climb up after that anymore. We gave up. We let the boatman pull us up! He is strong!

After that, we were looking for packages for dive trips and day trips packages to occupy us for the next 2 days. The weather was terrible! Super heavy rain! We were all cold, wet and hungry and were not in the best of the mood. We were glad that the nite ended well with our trips settled and had a great thai meal at the "Patong Seafood" restaurent.

My sweet fwens got me a small bdae cake from the starbucks to celebrate my bdae! So touched!

A nice surprise for me at 12am (phuket's timing). The brownie was really really yummy! But i was really really sleepy too! keke!

The second Day:

Woke up early to set out for our dives. The divers were me,aurey and yx. The rest were going on a day trip to phi phi island. Will only get to see the rest at the end of the day.

We begin the day with a good breakfast!

It was a 2 dives day trip and we even had a refresher course because it was ages since we last dived. The dive boats were nice and clean, the dive masters/ instructors were really nice and the quality of the equipments were quite good. The boat has free flow of drinks and they served yummy thai food for lunch! It was a quite a waste that i did not have enuff appetite to eat loads. I was more worried about vomitting in the sea!

Our first dive master was quite farnie. He was quite hairy all over and he joked with us that he did not need a wet suit for his hair were his wet suit. We thot he was jus joking with us but he really went down without a wet suit! haha! it was quite farnie! We shld have taken a pic of him in his "wet suit".

Our second dive master was a thai. He offered to take pics of us underwater for a fee. We din mind cause we never had pics in our wet suit before! He was another farnie guy. Really trigger-happy. His enthusiasm was so cute! haha!

CNY Steamboat

Found some old photos. Then realise, its time to update some backdated stuffs.

Having steamboat together during CNY has become a tradition for me and my grp of friends. Now that we are working, it was so hard to fix a date for us to get down and pigged out together. It made me kinda miss those days when we were still schooling where we can jus arrange a date to sit down and jus pig out simply because we have nothing else to do. :)

This year, all preparations was done kindly by mellie and sherrie as the rest of us are kinda busy. Thanks so much gals! As usual, it was a super wide spread!!

We have:

  • Fishballs, Sausages, Fish Dumplings, Meat and Mushroom balls (from dear's factory) and Crapsticks.
  • Veggies.. More than 4 types! (I cant name veggies)
  • Beef
  • Prawns (loads)
  • Pork
  • Chicken
  • Eggs
  • Sliced Fish
  • Squids & sotongs
  • Those abalone clams (thanz mellie!)
  • Tang hoon!
  • Golden mushrooms!! (alot! keke)

We had 2 soup bases. 1 tom yum and 1 chicken. The tom yum 1 sux that nite though.

It was loads of food for like 7 people. Aurey and Ju could not make it due to other commitments. But cheryl was back in singapore and was kind enuff to join us for the steamboat! It was good to see her back! She is getting prettier each time we see her!

There were also wine sponsered by Sherrie and Cristalle. Sipping wine and surrounded with good food! Wat a good life!

There were really too much food. We ate till we were stuffed and refuse to move and so we jus remain seated at where we were and played some card games. I forgot what is the game called (the 1 u stick a card on yr forehead and keep pouring the wine glass to sabo the person who has the card with the lowest value). We were so sticky after the steamboat, the card sticks to our forehead easily without much effort. haha! pretty grossed.

I kept losing towards the end of the game. Had difficulties finishing my wine. Wat a torture. keke!

Intoxicated! haha!

The joy of baking..

I baked again ydae! Made use of the holiday given to me. It was a good feeling! Geting yr hands dirtee and messing up the kitchen.

The best part of baking is to smell the aroma of the baking cookies in the oven!

From my tasters' reviews, ydae's baking was a successful one! I am glad every1 loves it!

Think i have been watching too much changjin, Chang jin saes her little wish in life is that thru her food, she wishes to bring a smile to the person who eats her food. N the thot jolted in my mind as i was baking, i actually enjoyed every step when i was baking.

In fact, i got pretty sad when i see the cookies on the cooling tray. It jus means my job is done.
I din even eat my cookie until little natalie offered it too me. Who can resist an offer from our "little tomato" (my new nickname for her)? After tasting it, I must sae i deserve a pat on the back. Keke!

I wish i could learn to cook real dishes for the person i love so that i can bring a smile into his face.

Any masters ard willing to impart his/her skills to me?
