Christmas Decorations~

Since i posted pics of chinese new year decorations, i decided to post some photos i took of christmas decorations.

Actually every year, we decorate the place more or less the same, only change a little details here n there. As usual, dad did most of the work! Previous years, the tree is my responsibilty. But this year, its all left to dad since i have no free time coz of work! :(! I love putting up the tree and decorating it with lights and ornaments! This year, i put up the tree only and the rest was left to dad! keke! Mum sae we ought to get a smaller tree next year! I dun wanna! I have a tall tree since young! Keep it that way!

Welcome 2006!

Hehe! I do know this post is kinda late but I have been busy eversince the new year started. I do hope it will not be a hard year ahead for me. I dun like to work too hard! :)

Had my new year countdown with my JC frns over at 1 of my frns, Edmund's house. It has been a while since i met up with my frns. Every1 is really busy with their life. The girls are already working and the guys are busy with school work and their girl friends. It's sure nice meeting up with old friends and go crazy together as before even though we have changed here n there throughout the years.

Yvonne and Wen min have been so kind as to plan this gathering cum countdown for all of us. They are really detailed and efficient in their planning. I am useless to plan gatherings like this. I m usually the 1 waiting to be called. Geez! Luckily, i have frns like them, else i will lose alot of them along the way.

Heres the food wat we had on our party!!

  • Pizza by wen min and weiSheng
  • SotongBalls and Fishballs by andrew i think. (seen at the top of the photo)
  • Potato wrapped prawns by Yvonne (in the middle of the photo) - really beautiful dish.
  • Cheese sausages & Mashed potatoes by Yixian (middle right of the photo)
  • Prata wrapped sausages by yiwen. (hidden in the background)
  • Fried rice kindly cooked by Junmin's mama
  • Fruit punch! by me!!
  • Konnaiku Jelly by Jorwe. ( i jus recall like i never ate this. Oppz!)

Sorry if i missed out any1 or display wrong information of who brought wat food. :)!

SOme party food ideas :

  • Prata Wrapped Sausages - Its really easy to make this at home if u dun wan to pay like $2-3 bucks for it at Taka or Carrefour. Just buy those frozen pratas, nice sausages, honey mustard and some lettuce. Pan-fry those pratas as instructed (very simple!) and cook the sausages. Wrap yr sausage with the prata with the mustard and lettuce as desired. Yummy!
  • My fruit punch - Jus cocktails fruits, Orange concerntrate n Sprit/7-up. It's quite a common cocktail.
  • Yx's simple yummy mashed potato- use instant mash potato powder. mix with canned mushrooms. Pack it in the aluminium foil container. Lay bacon and cheese as desired on top and bake it in a toaster. (she recieved loads of compliments for her simple dish)

Through the nite, we play "Asshole Daidee", took pics, watched a bit of the movie "Shutter" that was on the tv, played charades (damn! the guy were good!) and of cos welcome the new year! :)

Enjoy the pics!

HK cum China trip- part 2!

Day 2- Woke up early to have breakfast at the hut "restaurent". Had chee cheong fun, carrot cake(again!), corn soup (which i heard raves abt), fried beehoon and veggies. Hearty breakfast! Then its pack pack pack! BAck to HK!

Had tea on the ferry. Their ferry is so cute. Its the 1 we see on tv kind. It has a little cafe at the end of the ferry. The cafe sells hot drinks, instant mee (i jus realise i din try the instant mee dish in HK cafe! Sad!) and snacks. QUite cute! As the ferry was approaching back to HK, i had a view of HK island. HK is like divided to different islands. I haven have a chance to get a real map of HK to realise where each place is situated. It feels so hollywood like for me to be in HK. Its like everything i used to see on dramas i am able to see them in real life now! I even asked Thjie where's the area facing the sea where all the broken hearts go in the dramas! keke!

We went to a Macau cafe for lunch. The "cha chan ting" as it is called in HK was packed and we had to queue for our turn with all our luggage. We had pork chop bun(yummy!), Portugese egg tart! (yum yum), Roast "ke zi" ( wat bird is that in english?, no meat but i like!), some farnie curry thingy, veggies and the yummiest of all! the pork knuckle! MMMmmm! I had yuan yang too! Nice! The price of food there is like us going to crystal jade kitchen. Ex hor? We then headed to check in our "burdens" into the hotel. It was a short rest for us in the hotel. We cant afford to rest. It was nearly 3! N we were to have dinner with Patrick and Kimmy (Gary's brother and sis in law) at ard 7 odd.

We went to walk at "Hua Yuan Jie" near Gary's hse and our hotel. My gawd! The crowd was scary! Lucky the weather was cool coz i was already feeling kinda warm in the crowd already! It was like a big big pasar malam. Juju, BC's cuzzie, who was there earlier with Th, Gary and Nat know this area very well. They sae she shopped here everyday she was there! haha! Independant gal! So she kinda know all the prices there and know wat she wants! I bought 2 bags from there, Bc's mum bought a few clothings too. BC's dad was the happiest. He went to stroll ard on his own and seems to have eaten a lot of things! haha! Ohh! I tried the "Xui Liu Xiang" in HK. I soon realise it was in every corner of HK! I oso had my "yu dan"! The spicy 1 really quite spicy. The "hong dou gao" was not bad too! MMmm!

Went back to hotel to dump all our things and head to Gary's hse to set off for dinner together! The street where gary live had a really farnie name "Sai Yeong Choi street" haha! that's like a veggie name! i soon realise loads of other farnie street names! We had some yummy steamboat for dinner! BC loves the farnie sauce he concocted with all the sauce ingredients provided there ( they have all types of ingredients for sauce!) He is still dreaming of it now! haha! After dinner, we went to tour the nearby streets! I think we were at Tsim shai Tsuang. Ok... first time i din noe where i was going. We were following yvonne, Gary's sister who was so nice to bring us ard even though she was sick. Later in the nite, we went to walk to " xing guang da dao" to admire the magnificient scenary of HK nite view. Beautiful! Took a few photos. But the place was blardy crowded again! Seems like there was some show going on and the rest of the nite we were squeezing thru the human jam. Took bus to some farnie street(i m lost, rem?) to do some more shopping. This street had more interesting stuff than the previous. I had smelly toufu! keke!

For supper, we had wonderful dessert at TH's fav dessert stall! We had 2 pudding ( 1 chocolate and 1 plain), some mango kway teow tingy (my fav), some red bean wrap thingy, some black glutinous mango wrap thingy, some coconut desert n i cant rem wat else. Sinful indulgence! N that ends our second day.

Day 3- Woke up early to go shop Hua yuen Jie with BC. Bought some accessories. Went seperate ways with the older pple.. keke! Nice yvonne brought us ard again! Thankz so much babe! We went causeway bay which had all the shopping centre and the major shop! We then took a bus back to hua yuan jie for some final shopping. Had a little sushi before we start rushing off back to the airport.

Kind Gary bought roast goose, char shao and seow ba for greedy us to eat on our plane ride back!

Feelings during this trip: My heartfelt thankz to Gary's family for giving us such a wonderful time in HK. They took care of every small details. They like spent so much time and marnee on us. I know its because they are relatives so i feel like a free loader which i think i really am 1. Oppz!

Gary's dad looked so tired during those few days i was there. Thanks yvonne for taking time out to take us ard. Hope she have gotten better already!

HK gals are really pretty and fashionable! I love them in their boots! I wish singapore have cold weather then i can own 1 too! :)! I love the way every1 spoke in cantonese, its such a gentle and nice language! I wish to have a chance to go back there again and hopefully a longer trip, next time round. I oso wanna go back in summer so that i can shop shop loads! I oso wanna eat loads loads more too! I had a stopid sore in my tongue this time and made eating such a chore for me! :(!

Oh yes! Gary's parents were so sweet to buy medicine for me too!! I m such a terrible and troublesome kid! keke!

HK... when can i see u again?

My breakfast! See the corn soup? The soya bean was too pure for me! bleahz! U got to add yr own sugar as required! I still prefer unpure 50cent soya bean from market! keke!

The busy busy market in china at a nearby town. It is here where BC realised he can get a haircut at 1/10 of the price he paid the nite before! keke!

HK cum China trip - Part 1!

Decided to post about my short short HK trip here so my fwens can read about it. A bit off topic from my blog but i noe my fwens wun mind. Decided to split my long winded post into 2. Apologise for the lack of photos. Will upload in due time when the others upload their pics!

Day 1- Woke up at 4 plus on the first day to get ready to the airport. Took jetstar to HK. It was a crammy ride! BC and i rented the digital player to help entertain us thru the ride but we fell asleep soon after. When we reach HK, it was not as cold as the others claim. So much for me to lug my sis stopid coat. We took a bus to Gary's hse area, "Wang Jiao" there. Had dim sum!! the list of dim sum in HK restaurent is super long manz! Too bad i cant read chinese pretty well. The pple there really sit there and read newspaper while eating dim sum. Keke! We then head off to the jetty to take a ferry to CHina- ZhuHai. We ate like "Char sao" and "Sao Rou" on our way there. Keke!

WHen we reached there, it was much windier n cooler than it was in HK. Good thing Gary's mama loan me a Jacket, not as thick as my sis' but warm enuff for me. Took a bus to the place where they called "Ming Yuan". Think its a place where the Hong Kongers buy a house or an apartment to relax. I felt like i was in a show or cartoon or something. Everything is so prim and proper. The houses looks so perfect n uniform. Like a little perfect land. Dear bought me to their small lake or pond to have a walk. It sure feel relaxing. Then we had our a snack in the little hut like restaurent where we have sugarcane juice, carrot cake, some veggie and some other farnie things. All grown in the little farm they have there. We did a little touring of the area and i realise they have pple driving bugee to ferry pple ard the "village". SO cute! After touring, it was time for dinner. The RC there organised a christmas eve celebration. The place was nicely decorated with christmas lightings. But it was the most unusual christmas eve dinner i ever had! We had "Peng Chai", its a wash basin containing different layers of veggies, mushrooms, pork, chicken, fishballs and alot of others. The best part was the background was playing the instrumental Teresa Teng songs! Haha! SO wierd! There were fireworks after dinner. It was so beautiful! I have never seen fireworks so near me before! Poor nat got scared from the fireworks though and the parents and grandparents quickly brought her home and fuss over her~ keke!

Later in the nite, we went for hair wash and pedicures in a salon inside the "village". The service was good! I love the massage!! Cant afford to wash my hair like that in singapore! BC had a hair cut there! I didnt dare! Afraid i have to spend more marnee in sg to undo any damage. Keke! BC's haircut turn out fine though. My hair was so nicely blown that i feel its a waste to go back to bed! keke! Thank u Gary's mama for the hair wash and pedicures! Gary's dad look so tired after 1 day of our arrival. hehe! When it came to bedtime, i never felt so claustrophobic in all my life. The room dear n i shared is so small that it can only contain 1 bed and 1 pull out bed. The door cannot b open anymore once the pull-out bed is pulled out. I was practically stuck in a room with no ways to escape! Lucky there was a window else i will feel much worse.
