Dinner at JB.

Had an absolutely fun time with BC ydae. We were lazing ard in the late morning wondering what to do for the day. It seems really hard to find things to do in SG these days. Moreover, its really hard to get our fwens to go out with us since they are kinda busy with studies. BC then suggested that we shall go down to JB and do something different.

So ard 5 plus, after BC came back from work ( yes! work! poor guy!), we took a drive down to woodlands checkpoint to park our vehicle and then head to the customs to go to JB.

It has been a really long time since we last took bus or have a long walk together. Sweet! Haha! Anywa, I tell you the pple boarding the bus to cross the causeway is scary. I never see so much banging and rushing! I felt like I was boarding a bus in india (u noe like those u see in movies and drama)

We headed down to city square to do some shopping. After shopping, which was like nearly to 9, we then went to some back alley where they had stalls and stalls of food!! BC wanted to bring me to eat some yummy sting ray he had with his fwens previously. I really enjoyed the dinner! Never had such yummy stingray before! the chilli is good! THe char kuay teow was good too BUT really OILY!!!! Eating at the back alley is really hot but its worth it.

After dinner, it was time to squeeze in the customs and back to singapore. I think both of us are too used to the comfort of having a vehicle cause by the time we reached our van, our legs felt like they were breaking already!! We have never been so thankful to sit back into the van!

I guess there will be a possibility that we will go back there if we ran out of things to do again.

The back alley from where I sat. There are like 2 sections of the back alley: 1 stretch of malay stalls and 1 stretch of chinese stalls. From the looks of the customers of my pic, we were at the chinese stall stretch.

My super oily char kuay teow! It smelt really good when we walked past and so I jus gotta tried it! Yumz!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
There.. You can see BC attacking his kway teow already! we were really hungry from all the shopping! The coconut juice aint chilled, we got to add out own ice in it. It was really warm and the coconut juice did not help at all.

TOok a really cute photo of BC but he refused to let me put it in my blog. Haha!

The sting ray~ Waited quite long for it but the wait was totally worth it! The fish was really fresh! and the chilli compliments it very well!

Jap Buffet at Miramar Hotel

Went out with colleagues for a dinner gathering at Miramar Hotel. We decided to call it the pre-christmas celebration, an excuse to pig out as usual. My colleagues raved about the fresh sashimi they had here previously and how much they enjoyed it. So this time they are back to relive the moment. Altogether there were 9 of us, 5 of us who reached first, started off first.

Took loads of photos of the food i had that night to upload into here.
Enjoy the pics!

BBQ in the rain...

Geez.. its sat nite, its only 11 and I am at home blogging... sounds like quite sad case to me. Well.. sometimes its good to have some time to myself.. have a little "Me" time and it also gives me time to promptly update my blog! keke!

Had a really good but wet BBQ earlier. Had been planning this BBQ for 1 week. Felt like having a BBQ by the beach like we did before and so started smsing our fwens to organise to have it on today. It was pretty sad when quite a number of frns werent able to join us. In the end, including me, only 6 of us were available for the BBQ. I feel so disappointed. I love having loads of pple in feasting. Food just taste nicer when there's some1 to fight it with you. The next time we have another BBQ, I will try even harder to convince more pple to come. (which is pretty irony cause I have lousy convincing skills... HAHA!!)

This time, we did the preparation pretty early as BC got loads of OT to do. Poor guy.. neverending work. On thursday, we went to buy a portable pit and like he said buy other "non-perishable" stuffs like charcoal and starters, plastic bowls and cups and so on. On friday nite, he came home from work like nearly to 10 and we rushed down to Cold Storage to buy the food and then back to do his hse to do the marinating. This guy is amazing i tell you.

He marinated the chicken wings, pork belly, pork meat, chicken meat and beef. Each of which of different marination method. The pork belly and pork meat marination were the yummiest! The chicken wings were nice as usual, always have a nice crispy skin to it when he marinates it. I wonder why. N every time he cant remember how he marinate the last time. He never knows wat he use.. just by his guts feeling! kewl right? I always feel so intimated when I am with him in the kitchen. He is so incontrol. damnz! haha!!

Anyway, it rained since 1 pm this afternoon. I was hoping it stopped by 3. It rained heavily until after 4 plus. We decided to go ahead n look for a pavilion at East Coast.

I was pretty screwed up for the day. Forgot everything I got to do. Forgot to bring my Portabello mushrooms from the fridge, forgot to pack serviettes and scissors, and also nearly forgot the brush as well. Thank gdness BC went with me to NTUC to do some last min shopping. Its only after we reached the pavilion at East Coast and carried everything then we realised i forgot the tongs too! I think BC wanted to kill me by then! *sheepish* Heng Elaine and Jason were late and able help us get a few stuffs we forgot. hehe!!

I think I toked too much for this post. Picture time!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Hehe! Yes! Attempting Artistic Pics again. This is a pic of our surroundings of the empty pit we found. We drove all the way to nearly the end before we found an empty pit and accessible to the carpark! Love the view from our pavilion. Although I jus realise the dustbin area is quite a sighful.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From another angle... No more unsightly dustbins! So So? Is my composition nice for this pic?! I kinda liked it.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I not sure about the exact name of the place we are near too. I think the sailing club? But isnt the sailing club in changi? sorry! Anyone any idea?! Ohhh! N the best part of this pavilion is that is near the TOILET!!! HAHA!! means.. we dun have to worry about peeing and then we get loads of water to wash stuffs.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Our Pavilion! Doesnt it looks so comfy to be in?! Right in the middle is the mini portable pit we bought! It din look that small in the shop! haha! Dun ask me about the baby pram at the corner! I have no idea why was it there in the first place. I think perhaps some parents left it there when they realised its broken. Anyway, BC decided its a nice place to tie our plastic bags to throw rubbish.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

From another angle. Dun you think our benches looks so gleaming clean?!! Yes! BC and I cleaned both of the benches ok? with water and loads of serviettes! We just had too! It was sandy and wet! N the bench on the other side was filled with some sticky stuffs and loads of flies! So both of us, were madly pouring water, cleaning and drying the benches. In the end, the place looks so comfy and decent! Heng it was still rainy so not much pple walked past else they must b looking at us wierdos! haha! I love BC's icebox, its is also a table and has 2 mini chairs when fully assembled. Else its jus a nice compact icebox. Kewl right?! We sure need to bring it along when we go BBQ. So handy!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Our Food. Long List. Just see~ hehe!

Miscellaneous Stuffs...

Was suppose to help shine the light on the food (lights haven came on yet) but decided to take a pic on the way. Then realised all I took was smoke! Haha!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Attempting some shot of the lampposts. I realise it was really beautiful when i was staring blankly at them. However I am unable to capture them as how i see them! I need professional help!

Sotong Mian

On certain days of my working week, I will work in somewhere faraway in the west.. up in a certain hill. On my lucky days, I am spared from climbing up the hill with the help of a few saviours. Some days, I jus got to bear with the blisters on my feet and climb the steep slope up and down a stopid hill so as to just to get into a stopid room in a stopid building so as to start working.

Suffering...

Going home is just as bad. I am entirely grateful when there is someone who offer us to hitch a ride in their car to the busstop where civilisation is. I always see a halo on the driver's head whenever they stop their car and ask "You gals need a lift to the busstop?"

TOking about that awful workplace jus reminded me of the blister i just gotten back on tuesday. Sheesh!

This workplace is not just inaccessible but also the food they have here is simply awful. The food in the canteen isnt very appealing but to fill our stomach, anything goes. Sometimes we will walk a longer distance to airconditioned place which serve saner food but really oily and unhealthy. Its no wonder I have a colleague there who always end up with contispation problem. Keke! Yeap.. no fruit stall either. I hear that there is a place that sells nicer food further up hill.. but Noo.. I have enuff of climbing. Sometimes when we are more fwee, our nice colleagues will drive us out for lunch.

Ohh.. anyway, the purpose of my post is to show a really pretty pic my colleague, ka-te (as in short in hokkein - my evil nick to her) drew. 1 colleague, XW asked me during lunch why I have not update my blog for such a long time. Then I told her cause I have nothing special to write about. Then she told me, there... you shld take a pic of yr food now and write in yr blog. "This is what I had for lunch today, sotong mian" Geez. I was like I cant bring in camera phone here. Cannot take pic. Then we decided to ask Ka-Te to draw for us later in the nite.

N this is what she drew in the msn...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So pretty right? Jus by using mouse! She is really good in drawing. It was so pretty I told her i gonna put it in my food blog and it looks so much more yummier than the one i had for lunch. There is sotong, prawns and veggie in her pic!!

We all think she should not be in this line manz. She have drew many many other pretty stuffs before! SO talented. Next time I will steal more of her pic and put in my blog!

Chong QIng Hot pot

In October, it was the month where 4 of my best friends birthday falls on.

We decided to have steamboat! A place where I have not gone for a super long time. Chong Qing Hot Pot at Tanglin Shopping Centre!!

There were some unpleasant encounters before our meal that nite but its a super long story so I shall jus concerntrate on the happy part! Eating!!

As usual, We have the yuan yang guo. The Ma La is really ma manz! Before they serve us our ordered ingredients, we have some small snacks. Then we ordered everything for our first round. Then soon, its crazy ordering of loads of our fav food. They have nice sauces which you can mix on yr own to complement your cooked food! I love my sauce with jus peanut sauce and sesame oil.

After we stuffed ourselves, there is still a round of small dessert snacks for each of us. Neat!

We go home with big bellys, really oily face and red numb lips! haha~

Some pics..

Calm and Quiet before the food war starts...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The battle begins!! Haha! Ok.. there were really alot of food. But by the time, the food is delivered, we were all busy dumping them into the pot. Cameras forgotten so no more photo taking! Forgive us, a bunch of really really hungry gals (yes.. we are still gals! haha!)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The survivors of the war! Taken outside the shop with all the newspaper cutting. Look at our happy yet oily faces! Next time, lets take our pic BEFORE dinner!
