Manna Korean Restaurent (@ Telok Ayer)

Been waiting for these photos for ages so that I can post about this restaurent. The wait was so long that I dun think I can remember much on the taste of the food already. Haha!

Anyway, we decided to check out this korean restaurent out for mel's bdae because we wanted to have something different for a change. Korean is not bad too. heez! Actually, I do not know much about korean cuisine except for their BBQ and ginseng chicken.

We had a variety of dishes like korean pancakes, ginseng chicken and of course bibimbap. For the bbq, we had pork belly, beef and ox tongue. Of course, not to forget the many many side dishes as always! Haha! The kimchi side dish was a hot favourite! wiped out fast. The rest were eaten more for experience sake. Ha!

Overall, it was quite yummy. We did not eat thebbqed meat with the lettuce like the way koreans did for we thot it tasted kinda bitter. Think most of us preferred to eat our meat directly than cover up the taste with an overwhelm of veggie. So not our culture. hehe!

It's worth a visit if you wanna try some authentic korean. However, the korean bbq reminded me of the great japanese BBQ @Aburiya! I think my frn yx love it there too! When can i go back there again?!! Damnz! no exp food currenly for jobless me! Boo hoo! Anyone wanna treat?!! heez!

The pics are kinda blurred cause my hand isnt steady enuff.

Farewell my friends!!

Yes. Today is the official day of my freedom! I had imagined to be a action-packed day but I guess I have overestimated myself. Haha!

I should be absolutely delighted now but I am having some kind of unexplainable mix feelings! Haha! It is almost lunch time and there's no one to have lunch with me. I miss my colleagues suddenly! haha! I sure hope they miss me too.

Did a little baking few days back to prepare cookies to give my colleagues as farewell gifts. It has been ages since I last did baking. I was kinda loss when I first started. Haha! O well! Loads of time for me to do baking now! Must take the opportunity to learn how to cook too! wee!!

To ensure I have enuff cookies to distribute, I did the baking on 2 seperate days. On Monday night, I baked coconut crunch! On Tuesday night, I made burnt butter cookie! But I think the tuesday night batch not so yummy, think I was tired. I noe the monday's batch was good since my dad keep wanting to steal it!

Mandy 002
Coconut crunch in the oven. (expanded so big - forgot it will)

Mandy 003
The monsterous looking end product! Individual cookies had not enuff space to expand so they kinda "eat" into each other spaces. They ended up looking more square than round. Haha!

Mandy 005
My burnt butter cookie looking so pretty before baking.

Mandy 006
The just as pretty end product. Only bad thing is it was not as yummy as i wanted it to be. Boo hoo.

Mandy 007
I packed 2 cookies of each type with baking paper (like the way they do in cedele... hehe). It is simple and look pretty enuff to be presented as gifts! But, i remember that our office is plagued with cockroaches and I din wan the biscuits to end up soft. So I put the packed cookies in ziplock. Abit ugly but serves its purpose well.

Mandy 010
My cookies all packed and ready to be distributed!

People I will miss greatly!

Farewell 2
Take care pple! Love u!

Thanks to G's ex colleague who bought him a similar sandwich for breakfast previously. He loved it and decided he is able to make it himself. When he made it for me the first time, i fell in love with it! hehe! Whenever there's a chance, I will bug him to make it for me! yumz yumz!

We call it the Power Sandwich simply because it is damn POWER. Haha!

Nothing like a good breakfast to start your day!!

Citron Tea!

Recommend u guys nice nice drink! Citron Tea! Its light and its refreshing! N its good when u need a drink to "wash off the oil" or aid in digestion. I find that it helps me in that sense!

What exactly is citron? I extracted the following from wikipedia:
The citron (Citrus medica) is a
species of citrus fruit. It is characterized by its thick rind and small sections. Generally, it is eaten preserved or in bakery goods, such as fruitcakes. (The candied peel rather than the fruit is often used in cooking.) In some culture, it is made into a fruity tea. The citron is mostly grown near the Mediterranean, parts of India, and in Central and South America. Pliny the Elder states that in his time, despite attempts to transport it into the Roman Empire in tightly-packed pots, the citron could only be grown in Media and Persia (HN xii.7), although there is evidence pointing to its cultivation in the Mediterranean during his lifetime. Zohary and Hopf believe this tree was first domesticated in India, and speculate that its wild forms, along with those of the mandarin and pomelo, were the original citrus species.

The jar of citron is like a jar of marmalade. You jus mix it with water and "wa la", there u have it, your citron drink.

Bought mine recently from the korean supermarket at Bencoolen square. You can buy it from any supermarket. However, this brand taste quite good to me although there are many other brands.

Waraku Weekday Lunch!

Waraku is a japanese restaurent which serves quite yummy japanese food! N the weekday lunches offer makes it a good place for special office lunches!

http://www.waraku.com.sg/menu-lunch.html

Its a bit weird how the Lunch Special A+B works. You practically get a small serving of noodles & a small serving of don set. Very filling if you were to eat it alone but very good if u intend to share the set with someone and can then order loads of other small dishes to share with others!!

The best part is when u order a set, u can get a chawanmushi for jus 2 bucks, salmon sashimi for jus 3 bucks and a uramaki for jus 6.50! The bad part is 1 set only allows 1 order of the above items, meaning if yr fwen n u loves chawanmushi, u either share or fight it out! haha!

The chawanmushi is smooth and yummy!! N the uramaki is absolutely delicious!!!!! My favourite!!!

Some pics i took during office lunches...

I adore chawanmushi!!

"Wan To Sek" 123 Dim Sum

Everyone should know about the 24 hr Geylang dim sum place by now.

Its is my "I-want-to-eat-supper-and-I-feel-like-eating-dimsum" place. The price is reasonable, they have loads of varieties and some of its dishes is good.

The best dish there should be the zhu chang fen. The smooth chang fen and the thick gravy! MMm!!! But please do not eat the xiao long bao there! yucks! BC commented its like mini pork bao just that the skin is different. No worries, most of dishes are relatively yummy.

I love the chilli there too!! goes well with their dim sum!! Mmm!!! Oppz feeling hungry!

Went there again with our friends recently! My fwen took the pics! Requested to steal her pics since she have uploaded them already! Hees! Lazy me! Thanx gal!
