Our Lazy Afternoon...

About 3 weeks back, we ran out of things to do during our sat afternoon and decided to go lobstering. BC's new tank seems rather empty because of the BIG lobsters have died and left the small hei bis swimming in the big tank.

We were on a mission that day just to catch Hei Bis that day since the big lobsters always died. Its like so cruel to catch them just to see them die. And the best part, the heibis are so much easier to catch.

So the 2 of us jus grabbed out nets and buckets and left for Kranji Reservior! All we had was mineral water and a tube of mentos! haha! So pathetic! the last 2 times we had really yummy sandwiches courtesy of TH jie and Gary.

So this time round.. its just the 2 of us.... BC commented we seem like some boring old couple with nothing to do but have to go fishing. It seems like we have no life. But i told him its fun!

It was really fun that day! you noe why?! I finally got my first big lobster! actually 2!! hahaha!! The past 2 times I was really frustrated with no catch at all. So i was pretty happy catching heibis already since it was so much more easier. N the feeling of catching something is really fun! Then there was this big lobster seducing me to catch it. N i manage to caught it easily!! Unlike the previous times! N after that! I was on the roll! caught 1 more big one! They werent those big huge ones caught by Gary and Auntie but big enuff not to look like hei bi but lobster.

I felt so satisfied that day!!! But we let the first one go caused it seems like it was dying. BC sae we shant be so cruel and I agreed to let it go since I already caught other big ones. Sad though. ANyway, my other big lobster died the next day. Haiz.. dunno why they always die when we bring them home. But we have loads of heibis in BC's tank now. Anyway, the hei bis look so much cuter than the lobsters so its ok... hehe!!

Look who came to join us much later!! its natalie! Her granpa and granma decided to come and find us after work. She came without her mummy cause mummy was feeling sick and resting at home. SO granpa and granma brought her out for a walk, plus soon kueh and chee chong fun. Granma was itching to catch a lobster too! She manage to catch one very fast! Her lobster made mine looks so small!!! but hers died the next day too!! Sad!!

Siew Mais!

Had these pics in my HP for the longest time!

Went to BC's hse 1 sunday (ard June) and he wanted to make some Siew Mais. So we went to the supermarket to grab some pork, pork fat, prawns and siew mai skin.

I had some experience with making siew mai before. Attended some dim sum courses in the CC couple of years back! I told BC .. nice siew mais must have mushrooms and loads of pork fats!! haha!

Here are our siew mais! We used carrot shreds to replace the role crab roe!! hehe!

BC made the meat. BC's mama and I "bao" the siew mais. hehe!!

CupCakes!

Been wanting to bake cupcakes for a long time. On last sunday, wanted to do somethng meaningful for myself. So after dinner, I went ahead to bake some cupcakes.

It is a rather warm hazy nite today! Getting sniffy! So this is gonna be a simple and direct post. Haha! We shall let the photos do the toking....


Finally!! I GOT A MIXER!! Courtesy of my auntie! Hehe! She had an extra NEW one and gave it to my mama because she knows I liked baking! Weee! my own personal mixer! No more aching arms!!

My humble product!!

It was kinda dry but not bad! I think i have to try a few more times to master a real cupcake! I love the ones my nanny made for me when I was young. So soft.. so fluffy.. so yummy. and it was done using those mini cupcakes cup and toasters! loved them! Maybe its time to call her for the recipe!
