In touch with nature..

Been doing some outdoor activities for the previous 2 weeks. Kinda fun! So decided to share this little experience with everyone.

------ Prawning at Lakeside fishing village ---------

Went prawning with Elaine, Jason and friends on a saturday evening. Apparently, they saw a recommendation on a Channel U show of this fishing place and jioed us along to go with them. When we went there, they were prawning instead. They were sharing 2 rods among the 5 of them. I think its 1 hr for 13 bucks and 3 hr for 26 bucks, 1 rod and bait included. Net is provided too. Even if u bring your own rod, it is the same pricing.

When we went there, they have already completed like 2 hours. So BC and I decided to tour ard the aread and observed them fishing. THe place was really crowded that nite. I bet it was because it appeared on tv recently. Among them, they only to managed to catch 7 prawns. Such exp prawns (7 for $54~~). Anyway, towards the last 15 mins, i decided to borrow the rod and test my luck. Its really hard to prawn cause i have to keep observing the small float in the dark pond waters. They told me once the float is submerged means the prawns are eating my bait! My poor bait got eaten tons of time still no prawn!! At the last min, i saw my float submerged and felt a very stong pull!! I caught a huge prawn!! The feeling is shiok siaz!! haha! love it! Now i understand the joy of fishing (shld b the same as prawning).

So with 8 prawns with our hands, we were at a lost of what to do with them. Bring home like so stopid. Release them is like wasting our own marnee. There were BBQ pits provided there too. So we found a pit that still had hot charcoal and decided to cook our prawns! haha! I din really liked the taste of the prawn though.

------ HayDaries Goat Farm + Kranji Countryside-------

The next day, Thjie decided to bring natalie to the goat's farm to look and feed the goat. It was a family outing and since I had nothing to do that afternoon, I decided to tag along. The goat's farm was really crowded manz. You can purchase the goat's milk from there too. Goat's milk is much beneficial than Cow's milk in several aspects. Tried it before though, din like it so I did not buy that day. The smell is too strong for me.

They open up a section of the farm so that we outsiders can go view the goats and also feed them. They sell the grass at $2 per pack. In my heart, i was thinking.. good marketing strategy
manz. Pple paying you marnee to help to feed yr goat! smart move! haha!

Here are some pics:

After the haydairies farm, we decided to stop by the Kranji reservoir which we passed by when we were making our way to the farm.

There were pple fishing at the side of the dam facing malaysia. When we went to the reservoir side, Thjie and I saw those old fashioned playground which we used to play when we were much younger. Like small kids, we played see-saw, swing and slide with little natalie! Natalie was really brave! She managed to climbed up and slide down the slide all by herself!!

During this time, BC and his mum were exploring the reservoir area. We were wondering what was so interesting over there cause they really took a long time! It seems they found pple fishing little lobsters at the side of the reservoir. The most interesting part was that the way they fish the lobsters with chicken liver as bait tied on by a fishing line. Once they lure the lobsters out, they will use the net n scoop it! really interesting!

We decided to come back the next week to have a go too! Moreover, this was cheap compared to the prawning we had the previous day. The same experience.. at a better place and a better rate!!

----- Mini lobstering at Kranji Reservior -----

As intended, we really went to catch the mini lobsters the following week. All geared up with our
fishing line, chicken liver and fishing nets, we were ready!! We even got more fwens along to join
in the fun!!

Catching those mini lobsters were really not as easy as it seemed manz! Those lobsters refuses
to come out of their dark corners and kept eating our liver! So pissed!!!

To catch these lobsters, u really need a lot of patience and leg power manz! My legs were aching from squating for too long!!

The weather got really bad towards the later hours and we got to leave early. A few of us were irritated from returning home emptyhanded!!

Beware lobsters! we are detemined to come back again and catch u!!!

Me preparing the bait! Chicken liver stinks!!

All of us - all over the place! haha!

Little natalie joining in the fun! Love the scenery here!

Our first catch - I named it 'BC's hei bi'

Patience and squating is the key to conquer the mini lobsters!!!

Our 2 biggest catch!!! Caught by auntie and Gary! So big, its scary! We din eat any of them! haha!
