Straits Kitchen @ Hyatt!

2 weeks back my sis gave a treat @ straits kitchen. It is mainly a buffet serving local cusines.

I love the concept that everything is freshly made instead of topping up the food in the containers (cant rem what they are called at the moment) every now and there. I think hthe food taste good cause its all piping hot and freshly cooked.

Well.. not all dishes were good. But I totally love the indian food!! I always love tandoori chicken and naan!! Their indian food was not bad. Saw quite a few indians and angmos piling their plates with indian food.

The only drawback of local cusine is that the flavours are so strong, you cant really stuff yourselves crazy.

I know the goreng pisang is really good. You noe its freshly made when you can see the guy peeling bananas from the bunch itself and then dip in the batter and fry it for you on the spot. Hot and crispy, of course it will be yummy.

In short, it is like a hawker centre in hotel, buffet style. Overall, i think it is worth the experience but I dun think it is a place I will go back often though.

BBQ + Bdae celebration.

Finally had a bbq after so long! This bbq took nearly a month to organise. We are such busy people! :)! hehe!

We also took the advantage to celebrate a little gal's bdae on that day. This little gal is the dotter of a colleague. An adorable little princess. Knowing she loves yellow, we decide to decorate the place up a bit. We had yellow balloons tied with yellow ribbons and yellow table clothes! We even had two fellas dressed in yellow in honour of her! Such a yellow event!

The main highlight of the BBQ was still the pork belly. Should really try to add in pork belly as one of the bbq items next time. The fats bbqed to a nice crisp like roast meat you order from the duck/chicken rice stall. Absolutely heavenly. Yummz!!

Of cos we had the normal items like chicken wings, pork chop, pork ribs, portobello mushrooms, hot dogs, prawns, chinese cocktails sausages, crabsticks, corn and mashmallows. All prepared by BC himself! So impressive!! His chicken wings and pork chop were hot stuffs too!! Unfortunately, no beef this time round! :(! But the pork belly totally compensated for it! hehe!!


Look at the dark skys! It never fails to rain heavily each time we organise a BBQ. Thank goodness the weather always turn better after we get totally drenched. Geez!

The professional! Ready to start work! Told him we should really consider doing a bbq catering business! He not only marinates, he does the bbq himself! keke! All we have to do is sit and wait for food to be serve! Interested, anyone?

Tiramisu birthday cake from Crystal Jade Bakery. This cake was pretty good. Never really had cake from there before. Usually, jus buy the bread. Love the luncheon meat & egg bread from there though! Oh! & the cupcake like sponge cake! :)

Finally got to try this place about a mth back!

My sis' treat! Heard alot about its huge serving portions and also the huge burger they have that can feed many! haha!

Wasnt that hungry for burgers. So we tried something else. Loved the mushroom capponcino! Mmmm! Had caesars salad too! Crazy to pay marnee to eat salad but i really cant resist the yummy taste of caesar salad! haha! N cheese fries!!! Wooo!!! So filling!!


Our pepperoni and cheese pizza!! Mmm!! But we had 2 slices and we pack the rest home. Too filled by then!!


Free Candy floss for all the patrons! There's always enuff room for something sweet no matter how filled I am from dinner! Haha!

Easter weekend...

Finally we get to sing happy easter songs! The past few weeks has been solemn cause it was Lent Period.

It has been a self indulgence enjoyable weekend so far!!

Loads of shopping... buying... eating and fun!!

Horrible day at work it was on thursday. Glad that I had class at the end of the day to forget the shitty nite. Ended the nite relaxingly by watchin dvd and playing PSP! Had hot and crispy french fries too! Sometimes you jus crave for Macs even though its like everywhere and you can have it like anytime.

Friday was started off with church. The church was crazily packed! I got chased out during communion. haha! that was because I was one of the many parisherners blocking the aisles. Bo bianz. No space to stand. But it was a good feeling to see so many in church.

The rest of the day was shopping and to JB we went for dinner! yes! went back for the yummy stingray!! i got myself a cheap new top! BC got himself an even cheaper berms! steal!

Ydae was another shopping and eating session. We got a little extra cash from some place to buy ourselves more things! Hehe! I think we are too spendthrift!! Had dinner at vivocity with little natalie!!

N today...Dad just got me a set of drivers from cash convertors!! haha! I was complaining that I have no drivers so he told me he will go cash convertors and have a look! and weee!! There it was! a decent set! he said I was lucky!! haha! Pretty and light!! like it!

I wish monday never comes.... *Dread*


Stole a pic in church last week. It was Palm Sunday! They did a great job with the decor!

Our Merlion surprise! Ben & Jerrys! HAha! We were actually so full from dinner then! So 4 of us share one! Gary mentioned that if we were to have a merlion each then we will really "merlion" after that! hahaha!

Japanese Snack

BC showed me an interesting thing yesterday! A colleagues of his went to Japan for holiday and got this for everyone.


Looks like a cute plastic wrapped japanese doll, doesnt it?! So pretty! But it is not! It is actually a snack! How kewl is that?!


This is how the snack looks like when unwrapped! It is actually 2 type of crackers wrapped into one. The round one is some peanut thingy and the long one is some "ke ro pok" like thingy. So the round one acts like the head of the doll and the long one, the body.


The wrapper! Jap pple are really creative and puts great pride into packaging. dun you think?

It was a pity that the snack wasnt really that yummy. Heard that it was pretty exp too.
